The Oil Cleansing Method (OCM)

The Oil Cleansing Method (OCM)

You want your skin to have a healthy glow. You use sunscreen, moisturizers, make-up, and scrubs, trying to get your skin looking it's best. But sometimes those efforts don't pay off. Skin can look dull, dry or flaky. What's going on?

Well, it might be your skincare products.

81 percent of body care products marked “gentle” or “hypoallergenic” contain ingredients proven to irritate skin, eyes, or allergies. More than 500 products sold in the US contain ingredients banned in Japan, Canada, or Europe. 22 percent of personal care products, including many children’s products, may be contaminated with the cancer-causing impurity 1,4-dioxane. So treat yourself to something that is good for your skin- something natural, that will dissolve oil, lets pores breath, and leave your skin dewy and fresh. It's just a bonus that it also perfectly removes your makeup.

Our OCM, Oil Cleansing Method, would be a great activity at a class. If this is something you struggle with, imagine how many other women are feeling the same way! Give it a go and just see how well it works :)

OIL CLEANSING METHOD (OCM)

MAKE IT: Combine oils for your skin type (see following) in a glass bottle, like our 4 oz pump bottle to easily dispense your cleansing oil. Makes 5 ounces.

For Oily Skin: 3 Tbsp castor oil to 7 Tbsp carrier oil.

For Balanced Skin: 1 Tbsp castor oil to 9 Tbsp carrier oil.

For Dry Skin: 10 Tbsp carrier oil.

Add 1–3 drops essential oil. See our Essential Oils for Skin and Body Care tear pad for recommendations on what type of essential oils to use for your skin type. It's also a great sheet to send home with your friends after the class!

TO USE: Dispense a quarter size amount of oil mixture into palm. Massage oil into face for 2–3 minutes. Pores should feel saturated. Start hot water running. Leave the oil on for at least 30 more seconds.

TO RINSE: Wet a washcloth in hot, but not scalding water. Squeeze out excess water, and lay the cloth on your face. Gently pat; do not scrub. Rinse oil out of cloth, and repeat until skin has just a trace of oil left and feel clean.

At the end of your class, your students could leave with an oil cleanser that will benefit their face in a great glass pump bottle, and a sheet from a tear pad informing them on the benefit of Essential Oils!

Good luck, and let us know what you think :)

Please note: all skin is different and reacts differently to treatments. With the OCM there can be a transition period for 5-10 days. Discontinue use if you feel this method is not working well for you skin.
